About Us
Nad, Dan & Winston Dog
Welcome!
We are Nad(ia), Dan(iel), and Winston, the Cockerpoo, and we travel full-time in our campervan, Vanny Cradock, a 2026 Chausson V594 Sportline.
We met back in 2017 on an online dating app, moved in together 4 months later, and the rest, as they say, is history. We both loved travelling, but the arrival of Winston soon changed HOW we could travel. In 2022, we decided to drive to Italy to see Nad’s Mom. So we packed the car with the two of us, the dog and Nad’s mate Gary and set off on a whirlwind 10-day trip to Lazio.
The long drive, the tiny space, the battle to find somewhere to stay and the constant need to stop for a wee started the conversation about campervans. We had never even owned a tent at this point, so the sensible option was to build a cheap-ish van ourselves to test the waters. That’s how Kermit the Camper was born. We bought a clapped-out, rusty, old Ford Transit from Nad’s mate and got to work. That manky green van became the love of our lives, and we spent every second we could in it.
But how did we end up living in a van? What do we do for work? Do we enjoy this lifestyle? Check out our answers below!
How we came to live full-time in a van
Our second trip to Italy, our first in Kermit, was a 3-month-long tour that we never wanted to end. It was on our return that we started talking about making the move into full-time vanlife. We umm’d and aah’d, trying to convince ourselves that we really loved our 3-bed semi in South Staffordshire, but in reality our hearts were firmly on four wheels!
We sold our house and hit the road in May 2025 and haven’t looked back since. We try to spend at least 3 months a year in Europe, with the rest of our time spent meandering around the UK Coastline.

What we do for work
Dan has worked in marketing for an IT company for over 10 years and, during Covid, was sent to work from home permanently. Working a fully remote role means that we can base ourselves anywhere we like.
Nad, on the other hand, is a freelance chef and food marketer, working with food manufacturers to develop new products/recipes and cooking at their exhibitions. The nature of Nad’s work means that she can be called to almost anywhere in the country, so living on the road allows her to service clients much more easily.
Do we enjoy Vanlife?
The simple answer is YES! We honestly cannot see ourselves choosing to live in bricks and mortar ever again. The freedom of being able to take your home on wheels wherever you fancy is addictive. Minimalist living is also extremely liberating; we own just enough to get by, with everything having a purpose.
Vanlife has allowed us to prioritise what really matters: spending time together, discovering new places, interesting cuisines and hidden gems. Don’t get us wrong, it is not all Instagrammable beaches and sunsets, but as long as you are prepared to take the rough with the smooth, vanlife is such a rewarding lifestyle.
