Charred Tenderstem Broccoli

Tenderstem broccoli has to be one of our all-time favourite vegetables. It is super versatile and goes with pretty much anything. Charring it on the BBQ brings out a whole world of new flavour and texture that goes perfectly with grilled meats or fish.
Recipe
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
- 200g Tenderstem Broccoli
- 1 tsp Olive Oil
- Maldon Sea Salt
Method:
- Coat the broccoli in the olive oil and place the stems onto the BBQ.
- Give them a couple of minutes on each side until they have a nice char and the florets are starting to wilt.
- Remove the stems, season with the Maldon sea salt and wrap them in a foil parcel so they can steam until you are ready to serve.
Tips & Tricks
Tricks:
- If the stems are particularly chunky, you may want to slice down them to ensure they cook evenly.
- You can eat them like this or use them as part of a salad. Try adding parmesan shavings, crispy breadcrumbs and a Caesar dressing OR toss them with a lemon, honey & mustard dressing.
- You could do this with a whole host of different vegetables: Cauliflower, Courgettes, Peppers, Aubergine…
Tips:
- Keep them warm in your foil parcel on a part of your BBQ that has less direct heat.
